Asante Samuel Taunts Eagles' Andy Reid On Twitter After Firing Of Juan Castillo (TWEETS)

With his Atlanta Falcons boasting a 6-0 record and the team that dumped him in disarray, cornerback Asante Samuel would seem to be enjoying the sort of revenge that Frank Sinatra so famously recommended: massive success.

But he seems not to have been able to resist the urge to tweak the Philadelphia Eagles as their recent tailspin resulted in the firing of defensive coordinator Juan Castillo on Tuesday. The former Eagles corner, now on the Falcons, fired off a pair of tweets easily interpreted as criticism of Philadelphia head coach Andy Reid.

Although Reid isn't mentioned by name, the first tweet seems to be a reference to team's decision to let go of Castillo following the team's crushing overtime loss to Detroit. The second tweet seems to clearly be referencing a Philadelphia Inquirer report from training camp in July on the decision to move the 31-year-old veteran.

"Reid thought he was in steep decline," wrote reporter Jeff McLane.

Samuel took issue with that statement in an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution in August. "We'll see who's in steep decline," he said, pointing to Atlanta's Week 8 matchup against Philadelphia as his chance to stick it to his former team.

With Atlanta's surprise success, Philadelphia's inability to close out games, and Castillo's firing, it seems that chance came two weeks early.
