Hawaiian Telcom Services Co. Inc. has signed a multiyear distribution agreement with Universal Sports Network to bring the network?s Olympic sports coverage and other sports programming to Hawaiian Telcom TV customers on Oahu.

Hawaiian Telcom Services, a subsidiary of Hawaiian Telcom Holdco, will launch Universal Sports on Friday on Hawaiian Telcom Channel 90 and high-definition Channel 1090. The channel will be available as a free preview in July and August, and after that will be available exclusively to the company?s Advantage Plus package subscribers. The Summer Olympic Games will be held in London July 27-Aug. 12.

?We look forward to delivering our unique and compelling content, including the Kona Ironman, and building a successful relationship with Hawaiian Telcom as they grow the footprint of their outstanding, all-digital TV service throughout Oahu,? David Sternberg, CEO of Universal Sports, said in a statement.

Hawaiian Telcom launched its digital television service a year ago and currently offers more than 100 full-time HD channels.
