James hopes her story will show parents going through a similar situation that they aren?t alone. She believes that the effects of divorce can be devastating, and after her experiences and a losing a lifetime of experiences seeing her children grow up she strongly expresses that children shouldn?t be caught in the middle of a couple?s downfall. The story tells of how her children have struggled as a result of growing up without a mother: one of her boys seems to be unfortunately following in his father?s footsteps while the other has faced many struggles in life. Some of his struggles: falsely being accused of robbing banks; another being car jacked as a result of his father?s business dealings.? Her children have lived on the edge of the dark side. Whether or not they will continue there is still unknown.
?I am hoping to reach out to couples that are going through divorce,? James says. ?I would like them to read my book and see the damage that can occur when children are used as pawns in a divorce and custody hearings.?

About the Author: Sherri-Lee James came from a military family that moved about every three years. She married at 18 years old to settle down and lead a stable life in Edmonton, Canada.
